I use TT Business for my S Corp. I got a bit worried seeing the earlier reviews complaining about missing forms. However, a visit to Intuit's support site indicated that an update had been made on Feb 11 that added most of the missing forms. I purchased the downloadable program, applied the latest updates, and it is working pretty well for me. There are still some forms that won't be available until March 1, but those are not common and don't apply to my business.

The "Quick Import" from Quickbooks works really well, and I had no problems with tax category mismatches that have plagued me in previous years.

Preparing the Federal return is really smooth and simple. My main gripe with this program involves the California State return. It requires entering data manually that it already knows. For example, the California depreciation adjustment is supposed to be added to Schedule M-2, but I needed to add it myself manually. If you are in a state with a less complex tax code, you should be fine.

If you use Quickbooks, and need to file a corporate tax return, this is the way to go!

Bad Bug - No Fix, January 12, 2011

Loaded program, as I have for the last few years, and transferred prior year info. Hit continue and the next screen is nothing and it will not let you save. Message says it is a known error but they are not giving a fix. Restarting and rebooting does no good. For now this program is worthless!

Please note that I have many years of experience with software and taxes using many different programs. This failure by TurboTax seems unreal.

Update on January 18, 2011: I have now received and email from the Project Manager for TurboTax Business saying they plan to make a fix available by January 24.

Update #2 on January 24, 2011. I am pleased to say "score one for TurboTax" based on downloading todays update, transfering my prior year data, and being able to save - it appears they fixed the error that occured when trasfering your prior year amounts. I still need to actually complete the tax return but expect it to go well, the same as it has for the past three years. Other than the delay TurboTax caused me, I can now reverse my earlier comment calling the program worthless.

I've used TurboTax Deluxe for 12 or more years, and TurboTax Business for two corporations for 4 years, so I know what I'm doing. I can not believe they released this software in this condition. They should be ashamed. When you click on a previous topic area, it goes to a placeholder page that tells them where to put the titles, then freezes. If you try to save your file after transfering from last year's taxes and importing your Quickbooks files, which takes a lot of work to check over, it says, "Error 900! Can not save tax file!" and you have no way to save your work. If there's an autosave, it doesn't work. When I went to Intuit's site to look for a solution, it says this is a known issue and they are working on it! Hello? They've got NO business selling a piece of software that doesn't allow you to save anything in a business tax return! They invite you to send them your email address so they can notify you when they figure out what's wrong with this unfinished software they are selling. A piece of junk that will destroy TurboTax's reputation if they don't move to correct this fast.

Prices of desk-top calculators continue to come down. But the quality of the products remains high. This is a wonderful calculator. I have been using Sharp products all my life...and will continue to do so!

My only complaint is that the product was pictured as 'off-white' in color; but what I received was all black. Not a huge deal; but I would like to have known prior to purchasing.

I had the Sharp VX 1652 Calculator and it was starting to slow down a bit. Used it for 17 years. This is the exact key position as the VX 1652, so no adjustment period. Everything has been improved. Love the Calendar and Clock. And the Black color is great to have. Recommend it highly.

"Something Safe, Something Free" by Janice Daugharty is a short story that deals with a white man, Willie, who used to work for a Black man, Bear, and now the tables have turned and Bear now owns the business that Willie used to own. Willie is down on his luck, going bankrupt and recently divorced. His ex-wife has already remarried less than a month after the divorce became final, and wants to take their twin girls to Orlando. She promises that Willie will have the children next weekend.

Willie is behind on payments and is going to lose a tractor. His boss calls and leaves a message for him to come in and take a look at the new tractor that has come in. The IRS is calling. His boss calls again about Willie not coming into work in the morning. He's losing his childhood homeplace where he'd like to stay, and "...broken wedges of his grandmama's dishes wash up with every rain..." tell us that he has strong ties to the home. Willie has to continue to work, though, because he has child support payments and so Bear has kept him on in the business.

There is a lot more to this very well-written short story that captures Willie's sense of loneliness and failure. He sometimes drinks his breakfast, but Bear lets it go, at least for the time being. The real disbelief comes when his ex-wife says something that Willie completely rejects.

Janice Daugharty's characters are always real and show the human condition for what it is. Willie seems like a man who could be a neighbor or a friend, losing a lot in a bad economy and finding himself working for someone who used to work for him. The reader will find the ending satisfying.

Highly recommended for those who like short stories and literary fiction.

I searched out what Mac OS X system requirements were required for this download (as it was not specified here, several sites don't specify). Looked like it may work, so proceeded with the purchase. As it would go, it does not work with all Mac OS X system software...and, does not work on my computer. When I double click the downloader I receive the message, You cannot use the application "Amazon Software Downloader.app" with this version of Mac OS X. I had to go to Apple and order new system software (My computer isn't that old!). I have used TurboTax for several years and found it easy to use. No stars until I get it to work (have to give one star or it won't let me leave a review......)

Despite what it says in the product information, the Mac version does not do a full import of the 2009 H&R Block tax files. It appears that it can import from a version saved as a PDF, but (a) I don't have the file in that format, and (b) it sounds like this does not bring over as much information from the 2009 tax return as a "regular" import.

Products should be reviewed, not mistakes people made purchasing the product. I knew I wanted the Federal Deluxe version with e-file for Mac. I looked at what Amazon was offering, and found what I wanted. The fact that someone didn't read what they were getting shouldn't take away from the product. Turbo Tax is what I use every year for taxes. It is great and walk me through all my forms and questions. Highly recommend.

Just make sure you order the product you want!
